Meet Louie- a 9 yr old owner surrender. He is utd on shots and neutered. He came with 15 pages of vet papers. He has had allergies all his life and now diabetic due to taking prednisone for most of his life. This is heart breaking. He has a large mass cell tumor on his stomach that we can't treat right now as we have to fight off the infection in him and get him stabilized first before we can remove it. We are praying its only one tumor.
He will need EXTENSIVE vetting, allergy tests to see what is the cause so he can heal, and then surgery and cancer treatments. We are asking for your help in donating whatever you can to help his vet bills that will be staggering. Now that spring is here little man is having quite a problem. Sunday was nice and we were outside and he was lying in the grass (big mistake), and when we went inside he was itching and crying so much I had to call my local vet to get some sedatives for him. I gave him a bath and a sedative and rocked him to sleep. His eyes are filled with mucous all the time so I clean them a lot and put artificial tears in them.
He is allergic to almost everything. Dust, dust mites, mold, alfalfa, ragweed, pollen, various other grasses. He is having the lab make up his allergen vaccines. From what I understand, it will be like giving the insulin shots. He will never be free of his allergies, but hopefully this will help. He will always have to have these allergy shots.
