Maddie

Central Florida Pug Rescue

Maddie is only 6 months old and has probably been in pain all of her life. She was born with a condition called a luxating patella. She has managed so far to hobble around without using her one back leg and doesn't realize there is anything different about her from the other pugs. Her previous owners knew she was not perfect and discarded her into a shelter with no possible hope of being adopted and most likely euthanized because of the cost of this surgery. Central Florida Pug Rescue received a call and came to the rescue. We picked her up and brought her in, saving her life and hopefully her legs. She received immediate medical attention, was placed in a loving foster home and began looking for solutions to help her have the best life possible. Maddie Girl was seen by our vet and records were sent to specialists. The outcome was not looking good and we were told amputation might be our only hope until we discovered a place in Tennessee that is willing to work with our rescue and help little Maddie walk with both legs again. They are also willing to work with us on the expense as well. Our vet noticed that Maddie was so sever that it would take a miracle or the skilled hands of a very special doctor to help her. We have found that doctor! We have scheduled her first visit and surgery date in June.

This procedure will cost $1,800 for both rear legs. I know we just barely finished raising money for jax's surgery (with the help of all of you) and now we are hit with another enormous expense. That is why we can not do this without your help. We know times are hard and money is scarce…but please help us give this baby girl a new start at life with no pain and the ability to walk on all four paws.
