Pug Rescue Network would like to introduce one of our newest arrivals PRN #261. Penelope "Penny" Nichole. Penny" came into rescue with the help of MidWest Boston Terrior Rescue. Penny is a Missouri puppy mill survivor. She is FREE now and is on her way to a new life!! Penny has had her first visit to our wonderful vet and although she has a host of issues right now and will be on "Medical Hold" for a little while, she will be well worth the wait. Penny has a bacterial/yeast infection that she is currently on two antibiotics for. This is from years of not having proper medical care and good nutrition. Penny has no hair on her behind this is from the skin condition, flea dermatitis and urine burns. Both of Pennys ears are infected as are both eyes. She is currently on medicated ear and eye drops. She has very poor tear production in both eyes. Penny will also need entropion surgery as her left eye lid rolls inward. Penny is also being treated for tape and whip worm. She has received her Rabies and DHPP vaccinations and has tested negative for heartworm. Penny will also have her teeth cleaned when she is spayed as they are just horrible from years of neglect. Penny is doing wonderful in rescue. She is learning to trust the human hand and becoming more comfortable in her foster home. Penny has not had any accidents in her crate since coming into rescue. She has a very fluffy crate with warm blankets and bedding, not like the one she had in the mill. She has slowly been integrated with other foster Pugs and is doing wonderful!! She is learning her name and recall. Penny can walk on a leash and gets very excited to see her foster mom. She is still fearful in many ways but as she continues to heal and feel better we will be able to take her out and introduce her to different environments and continue to build her confidence. If you feel "Penny" may be the Pug you've been waiting for, fill out an adoption application and put her name on it. If your unable to adopt at this time, consider becoming a "Sponsor" for Penny, this will enable us to make her shine like a new "Penny".
